The Thanos mid-credit scene in The Avengers was perhaps the most exciting credit scene in Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We haven't seen much of the character since then, but the studio has confirmed that he will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy. It was recently announced that Josh Brolin would play The Mad Titan, but as to what role he will play in the film, that remains a mystery as well.

Now a new report has come in that clarifies how much of an impact he will have in Guardians of the Galaxy, and on the MCU itself. Hit the jump to learn more. [...]

George Clooney Josh Brolin Hail Caesar

Josh Brolin and George Clooney have both been leading men in Joel and Ethan Coen films. Clooney starred for the Coens in Intolerable Cruelty, O Brother Where Art Thou?, and Burn After Reading, while Brolin starred for them in No Country For Old Men and True Grit.

However, the two haven't appeared together in one of their films, until now. Hail, Caesar! is the Coen Brothers' upcoming project, and Brolin and Clooney have been cast as the two male leads. [...]

Sin City A Dame To Kill For Mickey Rourke as Marv

Sin City represented the neo-noir styles of the comic book come to life. Black and white colors, with ultra violence, stylized sex scenes, and gritty imagery that can only come from Frank Miller and be visualized into real life by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.

While the latter won't return for a guest directing vignette, Rodriguez returns to direct its sequel, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, armed with a script written by Miller, some returning cast members like Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, and Rosario Dawson, and some new additions like Josh Brolin replacing Clive Owen as Dwight, Eva Green, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Powers Boothe, Juno Temple, Jamie Chung, and more.

Dimension Films has released a brand new trailer for the film, and it is only a glimpse into the dangerous world that is Sin City. Hit the jump to check it out. [...]

The Coen Brothers' films have always had a strong cast, but none as eclectic and powerful as Hail Caesar! The film already has cast a few Coen Brothers film alum members like George Clooney, Tilda Swinton, and Josh Brolin. The three will be joined by Channing Tatum and Ralph Fiennes. Now the film about Hollywood in the '50s will be adding Scarlett Johansson and Jonah Hill.

This will be a reunion of sorts for Johansson who has worked with the Coen Brothers once before in The Man Who Wasn't There; as well as for Hill, who will reunite with 21 Jump Street co-star Tatum for a fourth time. Hit the jump to see what they will play. [...]

Guardians Of The Galaxy Poster Header

Guardians of the Galaxy, the latest feature from Marvel Studios, currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based off of 25 reviews. Do you know how difficult it is to get that perfect of a rating? Only the truest classics and greatest films of all time are able to reach that magic number. Plus there are many films beloved by all that barely crack the 90s. The rating might drop a bit as the film gets closer to its theatrical release next week, but right now Guardians stands a mighty chance at being one of the best-reviewed motion pictures of 2014 and one of the most successful August releases in history. And seeing as how this is a Marvel movie, naturally a sequel is being discussed.

Though a sequel has not been officially announced yet Marvel could still do so at their Saturday panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, and according to Guardians co-writer Nicole Perlman in an interview with The Wrap the studio would likely want to continue to stay in business with the film's gifted director James Gunn. Continue below to see what she had to say and watch a video of her chat. [...]

SDCC 2014: Sin City: A Dame To Kill For panel

The anticipated sequel to Sin City, the highly stylized live-action cum comic book adaptation titled Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, made its debut at San Diego Comic-Con in famed Hall H on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and the audience got to see a clip from the film center on Mickey Rourke's character Marv, as well as a teaser video of sorts with new footage.

Moderated by Geoff Boucher with a panel composed of Robert Rodriguez, who called the story one of the most original and groundbreaking graphic novels of all time, and creator/illustrator and writer of that graphic novel, Frank Miller, who was sporting wearing his trademark Fedora and admittedly, looking rather gaunt, but still waxed poetic about his craft and vision, a vision in which film noir meets surrealism, even on the printed page. Guardians of the Galaxy

If you really want to see a totally ass-kicking space fantasy adventure movie that is well-written and produced, with characters you care about from start to finish, then go see Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Based on the Marvel comic of the same name, it’s the action flick of the year, hands-down.

Peter Quill, aka Star Lord (Chris Pratt) has found a mysterious orb that holds the key to the salvation – or destruction – of an entire planet and the race of people who live on it. Chased by the henchmen of Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) and with a bounty on his head, he encounters Gamora (Zoe Saldana), a killer raised by the mysterious character Thanos (Josh Brolin), as well as Rocket (Bradley Cooper), a self-aware raccoon who’s the product of genetic experimentation. Rocket’s accomplice is the giant enigmatic plant-being Groot (Vin Diesel), whose vocabulary is seemingly limited to the three words “I am Groot.” Arrested by Nova HQ and sentenced to prison, the group encounters Drax the Destroyer (David Bautista), whose family was killed by Ronan, and who has sworn to avenge their deaths [...]

The Goonies 30

Back in 1985, Richard Donner, Steven Spielberg, and Chris Columbus created a tale of a bunch of outcast kids searching for buried pirate treasure. It doesn’t necessarily sound like a classic. But to those of Generations X and Y, the adventures of Mikey, Mouth, Data, Chunk, and Sloth are those of legends. This past weekend, Sunday to be precise, The Goonies celebrated its 30th birthday [...]

Benicio Del Toro in Sicario

Last weekend Denis Villeneuve‘s drug war thriller Sicario grossed 401K in six theaters, which by those standards, is quite amazing. Of course the film will expand to a few more theaters later this weekend before expanding nationwide in early October. With the momentum it has now, there is an off chance that it could perform beyond expectations, which would give Lionsgate a reason to greenlight a sequel.

Now it is still very early in the process, but it appears that Lionsgate is very interested in getting a sequel to Sicario off the ground, with most of the major cast and creative team behind the project as well. More on who is involved and the possible plot of the film below. [...]
